Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft comprehensive legislative recommendations
- Conduct research and data analysis to support evidence-based decision-making
- Collaborate with state agencies, legislators, and stakeholders on policy development
- Prepare detailed reports, briefings, and presentations for executive leadership
- Monitor legislative trends and emerging policy challenges across state government
- Manage stakeholder engagement through public forums and interagency committees
- Oversee implementation of policy initiatives and evaluate outcomes
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Expertise in quantitative/qualitative research methodologies
- Proficiency with legislative tracking systems and policy databases
- Demonstrated ability to draft complex legislation and regulatory language
- Strong stakeholder management and public communication skills
- Knowledge of New York State government operations and procedures
- Valid New York State driver's license required
