Responsibilities
- Analyze state legislation, regulations, and policy trends to develop actionable recommendations
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using statistical modeling and stakeholder interviews
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs, reports, and presentations for legislative committees
- Collaborate with agency directors to implement evidence-based policy initiatives
- Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements using KPI analysis
- Represent the state in stakeholder meetings and public forums
- Maintain compliance with state ethics and transparency standards
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis or government experience
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, SAS) and data visualization tools
- Deep knowledge of Texas government operations and legislative processes
- Superior written/verbal communication skills with portfolio of policy documents
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Valid Texas driver's license (required for travel to state facilities)
