Responsibilities
- Analyze complex fiscal data and legislative proposals to inform budget recommendations
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs and impact assessments for state agencies
- Coordinate with local government officials on regional implementation strategies
- Lead stakeholder engagement sessions with community organizations and industry partners
- Monitor federal funding opportunities and ensure compliance with grant requirements
- Present findings to legislative committees and senior executive leadership
- Mentor junior analysts and supervise cross-functional project teams
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sectors
- Expertise in California's budget process and legislative procedures
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Proven track record of developing equity-focused policy frameworks
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- California State residency required at time of appointment
- Valid California driver's license
