Responsibilities
- Analyze complex state legislation and regulatory impacts using quantitative/qualitative research methods
- Collaborate with department heads to craft policy recommendations aligned with state strategic goals
- Prepare detailed policy briefs, testimony, and legislative analysis for legislative committees
- Manage stakeholder engagement with public interest groups, industry representatives, and community organizations
- Monitor federal policy developments and assess implications for Illinois operations
- Lead cross-functional teams on special projects including pandemic response and economic recovery initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis (SPSS, R) and data visualization tools
- Demonstrated success in drafting legislative language and regulatory frameworks
- Deep understanding of Illinois state government operations and legislative processes
- Valid Illinois driver's license and ability to travel statewide
- Professional certification (e.g., PPFA, PMP) preferred
