Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex urban policy issues across housing, transportation, and economic development sectors
- Develop data-driven policy recommendations and draft comprehensive legislative proposals
- Coordinate with 20+ city agencies and stakeholder groups to align policy initiatives
- Present findings to senior leadership and public forums using visual storytelling techniques
- Monitor federal and state legislative impacts on local government operations
- Lead cross-functional teams implementing policy pilots and evaluation frameworks
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field (5+ years experience may substitute)
- Minimum 3 years of policy analysis experience in municipal or state government
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (R, Python, or SPSS)
- Expertise in stakeholder engagement methodologies and public meeting facilitation
- Deep knowledge of DC's unique governance structure and regulatory landscape
- Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable policy recommendations
