Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex policy issues related to public infrastructure and resource allocation
- Develop comprehensive policy recommendations for state agency leadership review
- Prepare detailed reports, briefings, and legislative proposals using advanced data visualization
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholder engagements including local government officials and community representatives
- Monitor legislative developments and assess potential impacts on state operations
- Manage departmental performance metrics and compliance tracking systems
- Mentor junior analysts and lead policy research projects
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Policy Analysis, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years progressive policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (SPSS, R, or SAS)
- Demonstrated success in developing evidence-based policy recommendations
- Expert knowledge of California state government operations and regulations
- Superior written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
- Valid California driver's license required for occasional travel
- Experience with public budgeting processes preferred
