Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex policy issues across healthcare, education, and environmental sectors
- Develop legislative proposals and policy briefs for state agency review
- Conduct stakeholder engagement with community leaders and industry experts
- Prepare fiscal impact analyses and implementation roadmaps
- Present findings to legislative committees and executive leadership
- Monitor federal policy developments and assess state alignment opportunities
- Mentor junior analysts and coordinate cross-functional project teams
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years progressive policy analysis experience in government or non-profit
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis software (SPSS, R, Stata)
- Demonstrated success in drafting legislation and regulatory frameworks
- California state government background preferred
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Active California driver's license
- Clearances required for sensitive information access
