Responsibilities
- Analyze complex municipal policies and legislation using quantitative/qualitative research methods
- Develop strategic recommendations for city council agenda items and public hearings
- Coordinate interdepartmental task forces addressing urban development initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and executive summaries for decision-makers
- Manage public engagement processes including community forums and stakeholder interviews
- Monitor federal/state regulatory changes affecting local governance
- Oversee implementation of adopted policies through performance metrics tracking
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of government policy analysis or municipal planning experience
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Deep knowledge of Texas municipal governance structures
- Proven track record of translating complex data into actionable policy recommendations
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to diverse audiences
- Experience managing public comment periods and community engagement initiatives
