Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic county policies aligned with community needs and federal/state regulations
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives to improve operational efficiency and service accessibility
- Manage complex public projects with budgets exceeding $500K, ensuring timely delivery and compliance
- Analyze demographic and socioeconomic data to inform evidence-based decision-making
- Represent the county in stakeholder meetings, public forums, and intergovernmental collaborations
- Oversee staff development programs and mentor emerging public sector professionals
- Prepare comprehensive reports for county commissioners and state regulatory bodies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in municipal/county government operations
- Proven expertise in budget development, grant management, and public finance
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, SPSS) and reporting systems
- Strong knowledge of Texas municipal codes and federal compliance requirements
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills with ability to address diverse audiences
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends
