Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive communication strategies for state-wide policy initiatives
- Manage media relations and coordinate press conferences with statewide media outlets
- Lead crisis communication protocols during public emergencies
- Oversee social media campaigns with 500K+ audience reach
- Write and edit official press releases, speeches, and policy briefings
- Coordinate cross-departmental public events with 50+ attendees
- Analyze public sentiment data to refine messaging approaches
- Mentor junior communications staff on government protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field
- 5+ years of professional public affairs experience
- Proven crisis management experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and CMS platforms
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean record
- Professional certification in Public Relations (APR) preferred
- Proficiency in Spanish language highly desirable
- Experience managing departmental budgets up to $250K
