Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive public health strategies aligned with county and federal guidelines
- Oversee $5M+ annual budget allocation for health programs and emergency response initiatives
- Lead cross-departmental task forces addressing COVID-19, chronic disease prevention, and maternal health
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health threats and resource allocation needs
- Coordinate with community partners, healthcare providers, and state agencies for integrated care delivery
- Implement performance metrics and quality improvement frameworks for program evaluation
- Represent the department at public forums and legislative hearings on health policy matters
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or related field (MPH preferred)
- Minimum 5 years progressive experience in public health administration or government roles
- Expertise in health program development, budget management, and grant compliance
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to travel across county jurisdictions
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification within 6 months
- Advanced proficiency in health data analytics tools (e.g., SAS, Tableau)
- Demonstrated success managing diverse teams in unionized environments
