Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive public health strategies targeting Wichita's key health priorities
- Lead cross-departmental emergency response initiatives during public health crises
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health threats and recommend interventions
- Manage multi-million dollar health program budgets with strict federal compliance requirements
- Oversee community health outreach programs serving vulnerable populations
- Collaborate with state/federal agencies to align Wichita's health initiatives with national frameworks
- Present policy recommendations to city council and community stakeholders
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive public health management experience
- Proven track record in developing emergency response protocols
- Expertise in health program evaluation and data-driven decision making
- Valid Kansas Public Health Administrator certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Strong knowledge of CMS/HHS grant administration and compliance
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse community groups
- Experience with public health information systems (e.g., Epi-Info, REDCap)
