Responsibilities
- Analyze population health data to identify emerging trends and disparities
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations for state legislators
- Oversee community health assessment initiatives across 58 counties
- Coordinate with federal agencies (CDC, NIH) on grant-funded programs
- Present findings to executive leadership and public health boards
- Lead cross-functional teams on emergency response preparedness
- Manage public health surveillance systems and data quality
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in government/public health sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, SAS, Stata)
- Valid California driver's license for field work
- Experience with CHIS/BRFSS datasets preferred
- PHR/SPHR certification or equivalent public health credential
- Demonstrated success in translating data into actionable policy
- Clearances: DOJ/FBI background check required
