Responsibilities
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify health trends and emerging threats
- Develop and evaluate public health programs targeting vulnerable populations
- Coordinate emergency response protocols for public health crises
- Prepare detailed reports and policy recommendations for city leadership
- Manage grants and budgets for health initiatives (average $500K annually)
- Train community health workers on disease prevention strategies
- Collaborate with state agencies on compliance with health regulations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in government or non-profit public health roles
- Proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, SAS, R) and GIS mapping
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification
- Experience with grant writing and federal funding applications
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency required
- Ability to work flexible hours during public health emergencies
