Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health strategies to address emerging health threats
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify trends and recommend intervention programs
- Coordinate cross-departmental initiatives for health education and outreach
- Manage grant applications and ensure compliance with federal/state health regulations
- Lead community health assessments and quality improvement projects
- Prepare comprehensive reports for county commissioners and public health advisory boards
- Mentor junior staff and collaborate with academic institutions on research initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive public health experience with government agencies
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, SAS, R) and data visualization tools
- Valid Texas Public Health Professional certification
- Demonstrated success in grant writing and program evaluation
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, CDC guidelines, and local health ordinances
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills with bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Experience managing budgets over $500,000
