Responsibilities
- Analyze complex epidemiological data to identify disease trends and public health threats
- Develop and implement emergency response protocols for health crises
- Coordinate with local healthcare providers and community organizations
- Prepare detailed reports for state policymakers and public communications
- Lead community outreach initiatives to promote preventive health measures
- Manage grant-funded projects and ensure compliance with state regulations
- Mentor junior analysts and train staff on public health surveillance systems
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in public health analysis or epidemiology
- Proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R, SAS) and GIS mapping
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification
- Demonstrated experience with emergency response coordination
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
- Ability to obtain Texas Department of State Health Services security clearance
- Experience with federal grant management (CDC/HRSA preferred)
