Responsibilities
- Lead development and implementation of county-wide public health emergency response protocols
- Coordinate cross-departmental initiatives addressing health disparities in underserved Portland communities
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health threats and recommend evidence-based interventions
- Oversee grant-funded health programs with budgets exceeding $2M annually
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, schools, and non-profits to create accessible health resources
- Represent the county in public health policy discussions with state and federal agencies
- Train staff on public health compliance and crisis communication procedures
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive public health experience with local government
- Expertise in health data analysis using tools like SAS or R
- Proven crisis management and emergency response coordination
- Valid Oregon Public Health Practitioner certification
- Experience securing and managing federal/state health grants
- Strong bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish preferred
