Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for biological, chemical, and radiological threats
- Coordinate multi-agency response activities during public health crises
- Lead incident command system operations during emergency activations
- Analyze epidemiological data to inform resource allocation and intervention strategies
- Train public health professionals on emergency protocols and response procedures
- Manage grant-funded emergency preparedness programs and budgets
- Conduct after-action reviews and improve response protocols
- Represent the department in intergovernmental emergency management forums
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- Incident Command System (ICS) certification (FEMA IS-100/200/700/800)
- Experience with epidemiological data analysis and surveillance systems
- Proven ability to coordinate multi-agency partnerships under pressure
- Knowledge of federal and state emergency management frameworks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for public-facing communications
- Valid California driver's license
