Responsibilities
- Lead complex epidemiological investigations for communicable disease outbreaks
- Coordinate emergency response protocols during public health crises
- Train and supervise junior investigators and field staff
- Collaborate with local healthcare providers and emergency management teams
- Analyze health data trends and prepare urgent situation reports
- Develop community education materials for disease prevention
- Testify as expert witness in public health legal proceedings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of field epidemiology or public health investigation experience
- Certified in Incident Command System (ICS-300) or higher
- Proficiency in epidemiological software (e.g., Epi-Info, SAS)
- Texas driver's license with clean record for field travel
- Ability to work irregular hours during emergency deployments
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
- Valid Texas Peace Officer License or ability to obtain within 90 days
