Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting Oakland's underserved communities
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health trends and inform policy recommendations
- Lead interagency collaborations with healthcare providers, schools, and community organizations
- Manage grant-funded projects including budget oversight and compliance reporting
- Conduct community outreach and health education initiatives on chronic disease prevention
- Prepare comprehensive reports for county commissioners and state health agencies
- Mentor junior staff and coordinate departmental training programs
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive public health experience with community-based programs
- California Public Health Certification (CPH) preferred
- Expertise in health equity frameworks and culturally competent outreach
- Advanced data analysis skills (SPSS, SAS, or R)
- Strong grant management and budget administration experience
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
