Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting vulnerable populations
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health trends and inform policy decisions
- Coordinate emergency preparedness responses including pandemic and natural disaster protocols
- Manage community outreach initiatives through partnerships with schools, NGOs, and healthcare providers
- Lead grant writing and reporting for federal/state public health funding opportunities
- Supervise junior staff and provide mentorship in public health best practices
- Prepare legislative recommendations and testimony for county commission meetings
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in government/public health administration
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification
- Advanced proficiency in SPSS/R for statistical analysis of health data
- Demonstrated experience with CDC and NMDOH reporting requirements
- Valid New Mexico driver's license with clean driving record
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish preferred
- Knowledge of Title VI and ADA compliance in public health programs
