Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic communications plans for major infrastructure projects
- Act as primary media liaison for ADOT leadership and regional initiatives
- Create press releases, social media content, and crisis communications materials
- Coordinate public hearings and community outreach events across Phoenix metro
- Analyze public sentiment and adjust messaging strategies accordingly
- Manage digital communications platforms including ADOT.gov and social channels
- Collaborate with legislative affairs team on public policy communications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
- Minimum 5 years government/public sector communications experience
- Proven crisis management and media relations expertise
- Advanced proficiency with CMS platforms (WordPress preferred)
- Valid Arizona Driver's License with clean record
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and analytics tools
- Ability to obtain and maintain Public Records Officer certification
- Spanish bilingual proficiency strongly preferred
