Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive public transportation plans aligned with city goals and federal regulations
- Analyze transit ridership data and demographic trends to optimize route efficiency and accessibility
- Coordinate with federal agencies (FTA) for grant applications and compliance
- Lead community outreach initiatives to gather stakeholder input on transit improvements
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for transit infrastructure projects
- Manage transit service contracts and performance metrics
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for city council and public hearings
- Stay current on emerging mobility technologies and best practices
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in public transportation planning
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS) and transportation modeling tools
- Demonstrated experience with federal transit grant administration
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex datasets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record
- Experience with transit-oriented development projects preferred
