Responsibilities
- Lead design and construction oversight of municipal infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, utilities)
- Ensure compliance with FDOT, FEMA, and EPA regulations
- Manage project budgets exceeding $5M and coordinate with contractors
- Develop engineering specifications and review technical drawings
- Conduct site inspections and prepare detailed progress reports
- Mentor junior engineers and interns
- Prepare grant applications and manage federal funding compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (PE license required)
- Minimum 5 years of municipal engineering experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS software
- Strong knowledge of Florida Building Codes and FDOT standards
- Experience with infrastructure resilience planning (hurricane/flood mitigation)
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Ability to obtain FEMA PMP certification within 6 months
- Excellent written communication skills for technical documentation
