Responsibilities
- Lead design and implementation of $10M+ public infrastructure projects including stormwater management and coastal erosion control
- Oversee compliance with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and Title 24 energy codes
- Coordinate with city, county, and federal agencies for seamless project execution
- Manage engineering teams and mentor junior staff on technical best practices
- Develop cost estimates and ensure projects adhere to state budgetary requirements
- Prepare technical specifications and construction documentation
- Conduct field inspections and quality control assessments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years of progressive public works engineering experience
- Valid California Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Proven expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydraulic modeling software
- Experience with FEMA floodplain mapping and mitigation projects
- Strong knowledge of California Public Contract Code and procurement processes
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for sensitive infrastructure data
- Excellent project management skills with PMP certification preferred
