Responsibilities
- Manage multimillion-dollar infrastructure projects including transportation, water systems, and public facilities
- Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Coordinate with city departments, contractors, and regulatory agencies (Caltrans, EPA)
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and municipal codes
- Lead project teams and mentor junior engineering staff
- Conduct field inspections and resolve technical issues
- Prepare progress reports and maintain project documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of progressive engineering experience with government/municipal projects
- Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in California
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal infrastructure regulations
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project management software
- Proven ability to manage complex projects within budget and timeline
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for government position
