Responsibilities
- Oversee design and implementation of municipal infrastructure projects including roads, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Manage project budgets exceeding $5M and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
- Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, contractors, and community stakeholders
- Conduct site inspections and technical reviews for construction quality assurance
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and contract documents
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies (Caltrans, EPA, etc.) for permitting and compliance
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on complex engineering challenges
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 7 years of progressive engineering experience with 3+ years in public works
- Valid California Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Proven expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and hydraulic modeling software
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of federal/state transportation and environmental regulations
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present to diverse audiences
- Experience with public procurement processes and contract administration
