Responsibilities
- Inspect construction projects for compliance with engineering plans, specifications, and safety standards
- Conduct field inspections of roads, bridges, and drainage systems
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Investigate citizen complaints and resolve infrastructure issues
- Review permit applications and ensure regulatory compliance
- Assist in emergency response for infrastructure failures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of construction inspection experience
- Kentucky Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification required
- Valid Kentucky driver's license with clean record
- Strong knowledge of local building codes and regulations
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
