Responsibilities
- Execute complex infrastructure projects including road rehabilitation, drainage system installation, and public facility maintenance
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, asphalt pavers) with precision and safety compliance
- Lead crew coordination for emergency storm response and disaster recovery operations
- Conduct quality assurance inspections using advanced surveying and testing equipment
- Implement sustainable practices in all construction activities including erosion control and recycling protocols
- Maintain detailed project documentation and digital asset management systems
- Train junior staff on equipment operation and municipal safety standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of public works or heavy construction experience with verifiable project portfolio
- Valid Minnesota Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Class A endorsement
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification or equivalent
- Proficiency in operating at least 3 types of heavy machinery (excavator, dozer, roller)
- Ability to obtain Minnesota Class A Water Distribution Operator certification within 6 months
- Strong understanding of MN DOT specifications and municipal construction codes
- Physical capability to lift 75 lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic proficiency with construction software (e.g., AutoCAD, Procore)
