Responsibilities
- Execute complex public works projects including road construction, drainage systems, and utility maintenance
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, bulldozers, asphalt pavers) with precision and safety
- Lead crew operations during emergency response scenarios like flood mitigation
- Inspect and maintain city infrastructure per federal and state compliance standards
- Coordinate with engineering teams for technical project implementation
- Train junior staff on advanced equipment operation and safety protocols
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in municipal construction or public works
- Certified in OSHA 30-Hour Construction and Louisiana DOTD standards
- Valid Louisiana Class A CDL with tanker endorsement
- Expertise in operating heavy machinery including excavators and pavers
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Emergency response certification preferred
- Pass background check and drug screening
