Responsibilities
- Execute heavy civil construction projects including road maintenance, drainage systems, and utility infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, dump trucks) with precision and safety compliance
- Perform asphalt/concrete repairs and stormwater management installations
- Conduct daily site inspections and report infrastructure deficiencies
- Collaborate with engineering teams on public works improvement plans
- Maintain OSHA compliance and implement safety protocols for all operations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of public works or heavy civil construction experience
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification
- Ability to operate multiple heavy machinery types
- Strong knowledge of Virginia DOT specifications
- Physical ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent required
