Responsibilities
- Execute complex infrastructure projects including road construction, drainage system installation, and utility maintenance
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, graders, rollers) with precision and safety compliance
- Lead crew coordination and task delegation for high-priority municipal projects
- Conduct quality control inspections and ensure all work meets engineering specifications
- Maintain equipment inventory and report maintenance needs promptly
- Adhere to OSHA standards and city safety protocols in all operations
- Document project progress and submit detailed completion reports
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in public works or heavy construction
- Valid Kansas Class B CDL with airbrakes endorsement
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficiency with surveying tools and blueprint interpretation
- Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Willingness to participate in on-call emergency response rotations
