Responsibilities
- Perform heavy physical labor including excavation, paving, and drainage system maintenance
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders, dump trucks) with proper safety protocols
- Assist in road repair, sidewalk construction, and park facility maintenance
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and city safety standards at all times
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Document work progress and maintain accurate project records
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of public works or heavy construction experience
- Valid Wisconsin Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
