Responsibilities
- Execute heavy equipment operation (excavators, graders) with precision
- Perform advanced concrete/asphalt repair and installation
- Lead crew coordination during emergency response deployments
- Conduct infrastructure inspections and report maintenance needs
- Maintain OSHA-compliant safety protocols at all sites
- Operate specialized tools for pipefitting and utility work
- Coordinate with engineering teams on project specifications
- Train junior laborers on best practices and safety procedures
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years public works or heavy construction experience
- Valid Louisiana Class A CDL license
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required
- Ability to operate 5+ heavy equipment types
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems
- Emergency response deployment experience preferred
- Ability to lift 75 lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
