Responsibilities
- Execute heavy civil construction projects including excavation, grading, and concrete work
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, bulldozers, asphalt pavers) with precision
- Perform preventative maintenance on public infrastructure (roads, drainage, utilities)
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean job sites
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers for timely project delivery
- Document daily progress and material usage accurately
- Train junior laborers on equipment operation and safety procedures
Qualifications
- 5+ years of public works or heavy construction experience
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 30-hour Construction certification required
- Ability to operate at least 3 types of heavy equipment (certified preferred)
- Strong physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and construction math
- Clean background check and drug-free workplace compliance
- Willingness to work nights/weekends for critical path projects
