Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize the City's Windows Server and Linux environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Implement and maintain advanced network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Lead disaster recovery planning and execution, ensuring data integrity and business continuity during critical incidents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy scalable IT solutions that support city operations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
- Conduct regular system audits and security compliance reviews to adhere to federal and state regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in Systems Administration or Network Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator are highly preferred.
- Experience working in a public sector or large enterprise environment is a major plus.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues under tight deadlines.
