Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage Windows and Linux server infrastructure within a complex enterprise environment.
- Oversee network security protocols, firewalls, and VPN configurations to ensure data integrity and compliance with state regulations.
- Perform system administration tasks including patch management, backup recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technical requirements and architect scalable solutions.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues to minimize downtime.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior administrators and junior staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Administration or IT Infrastructure roles.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CCNP, or equivalent) are a plus.
- Ability to obtain a State of California government security clearance.
