Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and optimization of Windows and Linux server environments.
- Security Implementation: Enforce NIST security standards and manage firewalls, VPNs, and access controls to protect sensitive state data.
- Cloud Migration: Lead migration projects to Azure and AWS, ensuring seamless data transfer and minimal downtime.
- Incident Response: Troubleshoot complex system issues and provide 24/7 on-call support for critical outages.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop Python and Bash scripts to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency.
- Collaboration: Partner with DevOps teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines and enhance application deployment processes.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in systems administration or network engineering within a large enterprise or government environment.
- Certifications: Active certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or VCP.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Active Directory, Hyper-V, VMware, and PowerShell.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
