Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage complex network infrastructure and cloud environments to ensure high availability and security.
- Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of critical system outages, minimizing downtime and impact on state operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and optimize existing workflows.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and runbooks.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices for system administration and DevOps.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee the lifecycle of hardware and software procurement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering, network administration, or a similar role within a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or CISSP are highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
