Responsibilities
- Oversee design and implementation of highway infrastructure projects in Mecklenburg County
- Conduct traffic impact studies and recommend engineering solutions
- Manage project budgets and compliance with state/federal regulations
- Lead cross-functional teams including contractors, consultants, and local agencies
- Prepare detailed engineering reports and construction documentation
- Utilize GIS software for transportation network modeling
- Ensure ADA compliance and safety standards in all designs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of transportation engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation
- Familiarity with NCDOT design standards and FHWA guidelines
- Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills
- Experience with federal-aid project delivery processes
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
