Responsibilities
- Design and oversee highway, bridge, and public transit infrastructure projects in compliance with Caltrans and federal regulations
- Conduct traffic impact studies and develop mitigation strategies for urban development proposals
- Manage project budgets and timelines using advanced project management methodologies
- Coordinate with city planners, environmental agencies, and community stakeholders
- Review and approve engineering plans submitted by private contractors
- Implement sustainable transportation solutions including EV charging infrastructure and bike lanes
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct technical training sessions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited institution
- Minimum 4 years of progressive transportation engineering experience
- Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in California
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and traffic modeling software
- Experience with Caltrans design standards and CEQA documentation
- Strong analytical skills for complex problem-solving in urban environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for public presentations
- Valid California Class C driver's license
