Responsibilities
- Oversee design and construction of highway, bridge, and transit infrastructure projects
- Conduct traffic impact studies and develop mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations (FHWA, NEPA)
- Manage project budgets and schedules using MassDOT systems
- Coordinate with city officials, contractors, and community stakeholders
- Review engineering plans and specifications for technical accuracy
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required)
- 5+ years of transportation engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Massachusetts
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and transportation modeling software
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Familiarity with MassDOT design standards and procedures
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license
