Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive transportation master plans for urban corridors
- Conduct traffic impact analyses and multimodal feasibility studies
- Lead public engagement sessions and stakeholder coordination initiatives
- Manage capital improvement project budgets exceeding $50M
- Analyze emerging mobility technologies (AVs, microtransit, shared mobility)
- Prepare grant applications for federal/state transportation funding programs
- Oversee environmental compliance reviews (NEPA, CEQA)
- Mentor junior planners and supervise consultant contracts
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, or Urban Planning
- 5+ years of progressive transportation planning experience
- Professional licensure (AICP, PE, or equivalent) required
- Expertise in traffic modeling software (Vissim, TransCAD, Synchro)
- Proven experience with federal funding programs (FHWA, FTA)
- Strong GIS and data visualization skills (ArcGIS, Tableau)
- Knowledge of Massachusetts transportation regulations and policies
- Excellent written/verbal communication and public presentation abilities
