Responsibilities
- Lead transportation corridor studies and develop multimodal infrastructure solutions
- Analyze traffic data using GIS software to model transportation network performance
- Manage federal/state grant applications and compliance documentation
- Coordinate with community groups to ensure equitable project implementation
- Prepare technical reports and environmental impact assessments
- Mentor junior planners and oversee project deliverables
- Represent the department at public hearings and stakeholder meetings
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of transportation planning experience in public sector
- Advanced proficiency in ArcGIS and transportation modeling software
- Valid Massachusetts Driver's License
- Strong understanding of federal transportation regulations (FTA, FHWA)
- Experience managing multi-million dollar capital projects
- Demonstrated commitment to environmental justice principles
- Professional AICP certification preferred
