Responsibilities
- Lead transportation planning studies and corridor analyses for Charlotte metropolitan area
- Develop and implement traffic impact assessments for major development projects
- Coordinate with local governments and stakeholders on infrastructure improvement initiatives
- Analyze multimodal transportation data to inform policy recommendations
- Prepare technical reports, grant applications, and environmental documentation
- Manage project budgets and timelines using state-approved methodologies
- Mentor junior planners and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive transportation planning experience with government agencies
- Proficiency in transportation modeling software (TransCAD, Vistro, or Synchro)
- Expertise in GIS applications (ArcGIS) and data visualization tools
- Strong knowledge of North Carolina transportation regulations and funding programs
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for public presentations
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Professional Engineer (PE) or AICP certification highly desirable
