Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive transportation plans for Shelby County and surrounding areas
- Analyze traffic patterns and infrastructure needs using GIS and modeling tools
- Coordinate with local governments and community stakeholders on project initiatives
- Prepare grant applications and federal compliance documentation
- Lead environmental impact assessments and public consultation processes
- Manage transportation infrastructure improvement budgets
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of transportation planning experience in government sector
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS) and traffic modeling tools
- Strong knowledge of federal transportation regulations (FTA, FHWA)
- Valid Tennessee driver's license
- Experience with public procurement processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
