Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive transportation plans aligned with state and federal regulations
- Lead multi-modal infrastructure projects including highways, transit, and active transportation
- Analyze traffic patterns and recommend evidence-based solutions for congestion mitigation
- Coordinate with city officials, community stakeholders, and private sector partners
- Manage project budgets exceeding $10M and ensure compliance with procurement protocols
- Prepare detailed environmental impact assessments and NEPA documentation
- Mentor junior planners and oversee contractor deliverables
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in transportation planning
- Professional certification (AICP, P.E., or equivalent) required
- Expertise in GIS software and transportation modeling tools
- Demonstrated success leading complex infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of Massachusetts transportation regulations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain security clearance for sensitive project data
