Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive transportation plans for Duval County and surrounding regions
- Analyze traffic patterns, transit systems, and infrastructure needs using GIS and modeling software
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies on grant applications and project compliance
- Prepare environmental impact assessments and NEPA documentation for major initiatives
- Lead public engagement sessions to gather stakeholder input and ensure community alignment
- Manage project budgets and timelines while ensuring adherence to FDOT standards
- Mentor junior planners and oversee technical staff deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive transportation planning experience with government or consulting firms
- Professional certification (AICP, PE, or equivalent) strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS) and traffic modeling tools (TransCAD, VISSIM)
- Demonstrated success in managing complex infrastructure projects from conception to completion
- Strong understanding of Florida transportation regulations and federal compliance requirements
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences
