As a key member of our Operations team, you'll monitor real-time traffic conditions, coordinate incident responses, and implement traffic control measures across Maricopa County. Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage traffic flow systems during weekend peak hours using advanced SCADA technology
- Coordinate emergency response protocols for accidents, weather events, and road closures
- Implement dynamic lane control and variable message sign strategies
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies for traffic enforcement coordination
- Generate detailed incident reports and performance metrics for continuous improvement
- Conduct field inspections of traffic control devices and infrastructure
- Train and mentor weekend shift staff on operational procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years in transportation operations or public safety
- Valid Arizona Class D driver's license with clean driving record
- Experience with traffic management systems (e.g., ATMS, ITS) preferred
- Strong problem-solving abilities under pressure
- Effective communication skills for multi-agency coordination
- Ability to work independently during overnight weekend shifts
- Basic knowledge of MUTCD and traffic engineering principles
- Flexibility to work rotating weekends and holidays
