Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive urban planning projects including zoning updates, corridor studies, and neighborhood revitalization plans
- Analyze demographic, economic, and environmental data to inform evidence-based policy recommendations
- Facilitate public engagement sessions and community workshops to gather stakeholder input
- Prepare professional reports, presentations, and technical documentation for city council and public hearings
- Coordinate with transportation, housing, and sustainability departments on integrated development strategies
- Ensure compliance with Georgia Planning Act requirements and federal grant regulations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive urban planning experience in municipal government
- Professional Planner (AICP) certification strongly preferred
- Expertise in GIS mapping software and urban planning analytics tools
- Demonstrated success in community engagement and public speaking
- Deep knowledge of Georgia zoning laws and development regulations
- Portfolio showcasing completed planning projects with measurable outcomes
